We emphasize & specialize in Faceoff Midfielders getting the proper training and attention they deserve. Inside our sessions, we emphasize:

Proper stance to fire out of your position, perfecting the clamp and different exits, hand speed/reaction time, counters & creating fast breaks out of the draw.

All faceoff training sessions include general offensive midfield work. Which includes, ground balls, ball movement, shooting & dodging.

FACEOFF TRAINING

Scott Conte is a Division I face-off specialist and Don Bosco Prep graduate who will be working as a face-off coach this summer.

At Don Bosco Prep, Scott was a four-year varsity starter and became the program’s all-time leader in faceoff wins, finishing his career with 856 victories at a 67% clip along with 27 points. He earned MVP honors in the 2024 quarterfinals and was selected First Team All-Conference, First Team All-County, and Second Team All-State while helping lead Don Bosco to multiple conference and county titles and a New Jersey state championship.

Now competing at the University of Delaware, Scott has continued to excel, earning A-10 All-Rookie Team recognition along with multiple A-10 Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week awards. He has appeared in every game, ranking among the league leaders in faceoff wins and ground balls. He held the record this year for most face-off wins in NCAA D1 lacrosse with 27 wins in a game.

Scott prides himself on his athletic ability to win the ball after the whistle, not just on the initial clamp. He is an expert at creating an advantage off the draw and believes that post-faceoff work is just as important as technical development at the X. In each session, Coach Conte incorporates midfield and full-field training so players improve their stick skills, lacrosse IQ, and confidence in live game situations.

Having started playing lacrosse in second grade, Scott brings years of high-level experience, a proven track record of success, and a calm, teaching-focused approach that connects well with young players. Coach Conte is ready to work with your athlete this summer to sharpen their technique, improve their wing and ground-ball play, and build the confidence needed to be successful taking faceoffs at the next level.
